The Children’s Room provides a fun place for children to curl up with a book. You will find books from the Easy Reader level up to 6th grade.  There is also a large selection of children’s movies and audio books.  Accelerated Reading Lists for schools in the area are available to assist parents and children.


Children’s Programs
are presented throughout the year.  Story times are weekly with
 special evening events. The Summer Reading Program begins in May and ends in August
 with a large party for all children who participate in the summer activities.  Children earn
 incentive prizes for reading during the summer months.  Special programs are presented
 weekly throughout the summer.

 

Need a quiet place to do your homework or just want to kick back?  The YA Corner provides you with that quiet place to study or relax with research materials and the Internet right at your fingertips.  
 

Adult programs are presented throughout the year.  Ask at the Circulation Desk for any listing of new programs or check out the library web page for the library calendar:

In the Media Room you will find audio books with the emphasis on contemporary fiction. Videos have an emphasis on classic movies, children’s classics, and documentaries.  Don’t overlook the conservation, self-help, historical movies, and classical music offered.  The CD collection covers country western to classical music, including holiday music.

The library subscribes to 7 newspapers, with older copies on microfilm.

The large Reference Department is staffed full-time and available to help you find the answers you need.  New reference books are purchased throughout the year to keep the newest information available for you.

 Book drop- For 24-hour convenience in returning books-it is located behind the library.

     Missouri Room Genealogy:

·         Find your ancestors.

·         Read the history of Missouri – local and state wide.

·         Identify Missouri wildlife and plants.

·         Read about Missouri authors and famous Missourians.

·         Find Missouri government publications and maps.

·         Look through Lebanon High School yearbooks dating back to 1913.

·         Search through Lebanon and area newspapers dating back to 1889.

·         If you don’t find what you need we will use the interlibrary-loan system to borrow the needed             information from another library.

·         Use the computer to research your ancestors through HeritageQuest online.

·         Check out the Bittersweet Collection.



The
Outreach Department provides programs and books for day cares, residential care centers, and schools.

 
The library provides
reader advisories for all ages.  With an average of 500 new books each month, including new large-print books and monthly subscriptions to 160 magazines, you will find just what you are looking for.  If not, we will borrow what you need from any Missouri library.
 

The Best Sellers Club – Sign up now to receive the newest books from any author you choose.  Just fill out a Best Sellers Club form that you can pick up from the Circulation Desk.  You will automatically be placed on the new-book waiting list for the author(s) of your choice.
